The Trailhead

The ride starts at the pagoda (opposite the car park). A set of steps will soon have you on the dirt where the riding starts. Soon you will come across a bamboo grove take the left path heading towards higher ground.

The ride

The real riding begins when you enter the country park at Sheung Yung Shan, an initial climb up switchbacks will soon have you on the ridgeline. From here the trail traverses along the ridgeline until you get to High Junk Peak. Here the trail splits, take the path to the right, and continue along the trail until its natural conclusion at the road above Clear Water Bay car park. From here you can either turn around and do the trail in reverse or turn left onto Clear Water Bay Road and ride back to Ng Fai Tin. Alternatively, for those who need to cut the ride short. At High Junk Peak (about two thirds into the ride) take the left path instead of the right, this will descend through a nice wooded section before exiting onto Clear Water Bay Road, turn left and ride back to Ng Fai Tin.

This is a fairly short trail that can be completed in about 50 minutes and some riders have mentioned that it isn’t worth the trek out there, however if it’s a pleasant ride with spectacular views this trail is hard o beat.

Due to the popularity with hikers this trail Is only open to bikers Mon to Sat and cannot be rode on Sundays and public holidays
