What bike should I replace my Scalpel with??

Hi Jeff! Tried Julien's 2007 575 this past Sat on Proj-X and it was really squishy and easy to roll over stuff that I normally have to work. The wheelbase is a bit shorter too so I felt like I was riding over the front more. Also took some time getting used to not feeling the trail and was a bit bouncy. The climbing was okay but definitely took more work... or was that the heat... ?? On Sunday I was back on the scalpel and appreciating the the 575 even more!! Would like to learn more about other XC/ All Mountain bikes in the 4+ inch category and how they rate in HK.

You can try my 575 if you like.

After two years on the Cannondale Scalpel I am thinking of moving up to a longer travel bike. My loyalties lie towards the XC side of the spectrum and I think that I need something that is more versatile and gentle on my body... and a good climber and descender too. Two bikes people have mentioned are the Yeti 575 and the Santa Cruz Blur LT2. Both seem highly regarded. Anyone have any opinions on these or any recommendations? Cheers, Tom
