Thanks Brandon the for post, I will apply for a permit. I don't have transport so I will be riding to the park. Is it a lot of hassle to take bike on the trains? Can you recommend a good ride close to Sha Tau Kok? I don't mind riding a fair distance to get there.

Wan, a permit is pretty easy and worth getting, to ride at Tai Mo Shan:

www.afcd.gov.hk/english/country/cou_vis/...cou_vis_mou_app.html

Also, I'm working on a course on private land for an upcoming XC race at this place: www.mxclub.com.hk/mountain-bike

Plover cove has good road riding, out at Bride's Pool road, but the trails around there are full of steps ... big waste of time for a bike, even if they were legal.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the comment, I don't have a permit so may be Ting Ping Shan. For a bit of off road. I will be riding from Sha Tau Kok.

Not too much around that area certainly not legal. Tai Lam Country park isn't a terrific distance away so is a much better option. Brandon, Nick, you live in nearby Tai Po, anything out that way?
